Background: PR launch of Meteor’s SIM-only Proposition which coincided with the leap year 2012. Traditionally in Ireland, the 29th of February is a date when it is acceptable for women to propose. Using this insight we decided to play on the event to highlight the campaigns main message which was “Life is better without strings” which reinforced the 30-day nature of the SIM only proposition.


The objectives were to:

1.) Raise awareness of Meteor’s SIM-only Proposition.

2.) Position Meteor as the “fun” “Value” brand in the newly created SIM only proposition space.


Huge Media pick of the launch which was covered in multiple red tops with no advertising cost. The SIM only propositions went on to become the best selling propositions among the Post Pay propositions on the market in 2012.
